Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of an income generation strategy and manage its delivery
Develop the strategy to incorporate a robust fundraising mix of trusts and foundations, statutory bodies, corporate organisations, major donors, individual giving, community fundraising and events.
Work with the Senior Management Team to deliver the business plan and participate in the regular SMT Meetings.
Create and maintain an active process of reviewing opportunities for funding and being alert to new calls for applications or tenders.
Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with best practice, relevant codes of practice and legislation.
Seek opportunities to work collaboratively with other charities to share the benefits of economies of scale and partnership working.
Set and manage income generation and fundraising targets alongside the CEO.
Manage the income generation and fundraising team
To recruit and train team members and be responsible for the management, development and performance of the team.
To undertake regular staff performance management reviews and annual appraisals to ensure that objectives are being met and to drive a culture of excellence and accountability.
Maintain good working relationships with all charity stakeholders including trustees, charity management team, staff, volunteers, supporters, members of the public and potential donors.
Supervise the fundraising administration of donations and gifts and ensure donors are acknowledged in a timely and appropriate manner.
With the Finance team, manage gift aid forms and assist the collection of gift aid income.
Oversee the work of the bid-writer, supporting their work, ensuring high quality bids are made on time and funder reports are sent.
Support the organisation to implement a suitable CRM and ensure that the team utilises and updates the donor database effectively.
Develop and utilise the supporter database with your team to maintain accurate records and for income and other KPI reporting purposes, ensuring reconciliation with the Sage system.
Delivery of the charity’s income generation and fundraising strategy
Lead on developing a fundraising database, recording all research, prospect management, approaches and communications in a timely and accurate manner.
Work closely with our staff team and the wider organisation to establish needs and develop strong proposals, project plans and fundraising and communication plans.
Oversee the day to day fundraising administration, checking received grants/donations, and working with the Finance Manager to raise invoices.
Stay up to date with sector trends, risks and opportunities.
Prospect research and approaches to funders
Identify, research, evaluate and develop new business leads and be proactive in approaching potential new funders.
Create and maintain an active process of reviewing opportunities for funding and being alert to new calls for applications or tenders.
Undertake stakeholder mapping exercises to maximise opportunities for income generation and partnerships.
Manage and coordinate the application process of seeking funds from trusts, foundations, statutory and other commissioners.
Represent the organisation at every opportunity to engage key charity stakeholders and act in a professional manner at all times
Ensure useful and relevant material is gathered across the organisation for detailed and timely reporting to funders and used in fundraising and general Bobath literature
Secure funding and contracts from new sources
Raise fundraising income from new and existing sources such as Corporate sponsors, Individual giving, Community Fundraising, Major donors and Events etc, in line with annual fundraising targets.
Produce well-written, effective funding applications, tenders, proposals and cases for support to meet the relevant criteria by working with our bid writer.
Work collaboratively with our staff to define project objectives, outcomes and agree budgets and disseminate accurate and necessary information (evidence, data, project plans and case studies) to inform funding applications and tenders.
Identify new fundraising events and manage existing events
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with initiative, skill and demonstrated ability to raise funds to support the valuable work of the Bobath Centre. With 65 years of specialised therapy under their belt we are looking for a flexible worker with strong organisational, and oral/written communication skills who can ensure the most successful chance of securing income.
You will have a collaborative working style whilst being a self-starter who can manage their own workload effectively. Working closely with the CEO, Bid Writer and Marketing team this is a role that has the potential to grow and expand. Our 65th year has seen a visit from our royal patron, a celebration in the House of Commons and a virtual festival to celebrate World Cerebral Palsy Day.
This is a full-time role but part time and flexibility will be considered.
