Founded in 2016, the Kids Network is an award-winning mental health charity that provides tailored, early intervention for 8—11 year olds who face the most pervasive barriers to accessing the support they need.

Through partnerships with primary schools in underserved areas, we reach out to children in need through a programme of mentoring. Our volunteer mentors, young professionals from the local community, work with children over the course of a year to help them build confidence and resilience and realise their potential.

Our mentors are given extensive mentoring and safeguarding training by our Programmes Team, who are experts in early intervention strategies. The training is embedded in a trauma-informed approach to ensure the well-being of the children we support.

Since 2016, we’ve matched almost 1,000 young Londoners with mentors, providing them with enriching, life-changing experiences, and have grown our income to almost £1m.

Want to get involved? Join us on the journey and help us change young lives.

The Role

Having grown our income almost 500% in the past 4 years, going from a kitchen table to a London HQ and a staff team of 18, we are growing rapidly and looking for a digital fundraising specialist who can continue the evolution of our efforts to build a resilient, sustainable organisation. You will help us to consolidate our current position and put us on a sure footing for continued growth, as we take advantage of the opportunities available to us.

This is a new role, as part of a 5-person fundraising team, and represents a confident investment in our fundraising and overall growth strategy. You will be taking the helm of our most interesting and varied portfolio, managing our digital-first individual giving programme, campaigns around event participant recruitment, online cash appeals, and working with colleagues to ensure a unique and consistent voice for the charity.

As with all small charities, you’ll have to wear a number of hats, but you will be in a well-resourced fundraising environment and have the backing of a board and leadership team who get fundraising and will make themselves available to support it.

With a strong future pipeline already in place, we’re looking for someone who can help us achieve 30% year-on-year growth, in line with our current trajectory. Whilst you will be accountable for this growth, we believe that all our stakeholders and staff are responsible for it and you will be well supported in your efforts.

What We’re Looking For

We try to avoid prescriptive person specifications, as they limit the diversity of experience on our team. Instead, we have just three questions for you:

  1. Do you have entrepreneurial flair? Can you describe experience and achievements that show your ability to distil a busy pool of prospects to the most likely, and to get the conversation started and partnership built?

  2. Are you a partnership scaler? Can you talk us through successes that demonstrate your ability to take donors through the full lifetime cycle, from cold contact to significant funder?

  3. Are you an expert networker? Can you describe your experience and success in networking through individual contacts to get to corporate decision-makers?

If you like what we do, the role is grabbing your attention, and you answered yes to the questions above, then we’d wholeheartedly recommend you read our detailed application pack, by following the link below and consider putting an application together.

We look forward to hearing from you.
