The Church Revitalisation Trust is part of Holy Trinity Brompton, with a mission to reverse the declining trend of Christian congregations in the UK, bringing community and faith to those who need it most.
Through a programme of church planting, we establish churches within inner-city and underserved communities, driving up congregation numbers and bucking the trend seen across the wider Church of England. These churches are dynamic and vibrant, with a younger demographic, and we work with their leaders to ensure they have the operational, administrative, financial, and creative skills necessary to thrive and grow. Our results speak for themselves and donors interested in expanding the faith have a large appetite for what we do.
We are also proud to run our Love Thy Neighbour programme, which seeks to help the most vulnerable within our communities. We brought community to the isolated during the pandemic, we brought security to Ukrainian refugees looking to make a new home in the UK, and brought relief and comfort to people struggling to make ends meet over Christmas. This more ‘secular’ side of our work has seen huge support from some big consumer brands.

The Role
We are a relatively new team, but growing rapidly and looking for a trust fundraising specialist who can continue the evolution of our efforts to build a resilient, sustainable organisation. You will help us realise the full potential of our existing partnerships, and build new partnerships from within our varied network.
This is a new role, as part of a 6-person fundraising team, and represents confident investment in our fundraising and overall growth strategy. You will be taking the helm of our largest income stream, with some incredible partners already in place and a large appetite for our work amongst the wider Christian philanthropy movement.
As with all small charities, you’ll have to wear a number of hats, but you will be in a well-resourced fundraising environment and have the backing of a board and leadership team who get fundraising and will make themselves available to support it.
With a strong future pipeline already in place, we’re looking for someone who can continue to grow our impressive reputation amongst charitable trusts and connect them with our wider work.
What We’re Looking For
We try to avoid prescriptive person specifications, as they limit the diversity of experience on our team. Instead, we have just three questions for you:
1. Do you have good knowledge of our donor landscape? Trusts and foundations dedicated to religious causes are fewer and further between, but their capacity to give is great. We’re looking for someone who has an understanding of the trusts & foundations landscape we operate within, so that they can hit the ground running.
2. Are you a system builder? We’re looking for someone who can take our successful, but nascent, trust fundraising programme and ensure that it reaches scale. To do this, we need someone who loves building the systems and processes that support this, and who knows what best-in-class looks like.
3. Are you a natural Wordsworth? Our power is in our storytelling and we’re looking for someone who can weave that into our trust fundraising approach. Are you a confident, creative communicator, as much as you are an accurate and effective one?
